Make America Healthy - Support Medicare, Medicaid, and the Affordable Care Act!

As your constituent, I urge you to take immediate action to protect and invest in Medicaid and Medicare. The recently passed budget bill includes a devastating $1 trillion in cuts to Medicaid, Medicare, and the Affordable Care Act. These are the largest health care cuts in our nation’s history. Without intervention, an additional $490 billion could be slashed from Medicare, further endangering the health and well-being of millions of Americans. If these cuts move forward, more than 15 million people could lose health coverage. Rural hospitals may be forced to close. Tens of thousands of preventable deaths could occur each year—simply because people won’t be able to access the care they need. Medicaid currently covers over 71 million Americans, while Medicare serves around 67 million—programs that enjoy broad, bipartisan support because they work. Slashing these vital lifelines to pay for tax breaks for the wealthy is not only irresponsible—it’s dangerous. I urge you to reverse course. Please work to undo the harm of the recent budget bill and ensure that Medicaid and Medicare are protected and fully funded in all future budget negotiations.
