An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Protect our data.

This Executive Order is a troubling overreach that risks violating privacy rights and enabling unchecked government surveillance. The pretext of eliminating waste and fraud does not justify granting sweeping access to personal data across agencies without robust safeguards. History has shown that unfettered data sharing can lead to abuses and an erosion of civil liberties. While responsible oversight is important, this approach is heavy-handed and raises serious concerns about protecting individual privacy. There must be a balance between rooting out improper payments and upholding fundamental rights. I urge you to reconsider this Executive Order and instead pursue targeted, lawful measures that respect Constitutional protections against unreasonable searches. Unchecked data consolidation poses a slippery slope that threatens to undermine essential freedoms in the name of administrative efficiency. Please stand up for privacy rights and civil liberties by opposing this order.
