HB3717 / SB 2308 Support for ibogaine research

As a Texan, I’m asking you to support HB 3717 and companion SB 2308, which would allocate $50 million for FDA-approved clinical trials of ibogaine—a plant medicine showing incredible promise in treating opioid use disorder, addiction, post-traumatic stress, traumatic brain injury and other co-occurring mental health conditions. Texas is facing a mental health and addiction crisis. Veterans, first responders, and everyday Texans are struggling—and many are out of options. Ibogaine has shown life-saving outcomes for people battling treatment-resistant conditions, including those suffering after years of trauma and substance abuse, and those cycling through relapse after relapse. As Texans, we believe in solutions rooted in science, compassion, and leadership. HB 3717 is about advancing research that could help save lives, reunite families, and bring hope back to people who have lost it. We shouldn’t have to leave the country to access care that works. Let’s bring healing home to Texas. I urge you to support HB 3717 and companion SB 2308 and help make Texas a leader in the fight to heal trauma and end the opioid crisis.
