An American president is using every excuse within his power to squash civil rights in our country. And if you are not actively resisting these efforts, then you are aiding and abetting. It’s that simple. Using a made-up, ginned-up pretext to call out the National Guard, call out the military and to escalate civil unrest to achieve a quest for power is as un-American as it gets. This unequivocal acceptance by the GOP that whatever the president wants to do, and however he wants to do it, regardless of damage done to the country, its citizens, and our constitution is a dereliction of duty not to be believed. You have acceded power to a rogue president. Who does not have the best interests of the country in mind in any of his actions since taking office. At this point, anyone who thinks so is a cultist. Is it any wonder that people are taking to the streets when the party in power has deserted them? There’s nothing about the California protests that would make them an insurrection. While everything about the 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol, an effort to overturn a free-and-fair election, made it an actual insurrection. We know it. You know it. The world knows it. And yet, the administration is an inch away from calling martial law. Why? Because once that is done, anything can be done. What will you do to stop this power grab? What will you do to put country over party? We’re waiting.
