I am writing today to ask you to take all necessary action to prevent Elon Musk from gutting the federal government as he did Twitter. Having lived and worked in Silicon Valley for decades, I have seen how Elon Musk’s successful businesses (Tesla and SpaceX) have succeeded not because of his leadership, but in spite of it. Both companies have needed to hire people specifically to manage Mr. Musk and ensure that he does not screw up the businesses. The company formerly known as Twitter is a mere shell of its former self and has lost most of its advertising revenue. As the head of DOGE, Mr. Musk has installed his friends and cronies and is attempting to - possibly illegally - access computer systems in the hands of employees across the federal government through the GSA. If Mr. Musk is allowed to run amok in these systems, he is likely to gut the federal government similarly to what he did to Twitter (now X), doing massive damage to the systems that maintain our physical and social infrastructure. Please take any and all actions necessary to prevent this outcome. Thank you.
