Oppose SB4638: Defend Health Care Access for Military Families

4 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

I am writing to express strong opposition to SB4638, which would prohibit the use of Tricare funds for gender-affirming medical care for minors. This bill unjustly targets the children of military families by denying them access to evidence-based, life-saving health care. Tricare exists to support the well-being of those who serve our country and their families. Blocking coverage for puberty blockers, hormone therapy, and related care undermines that mission and places transgender youth at serious risk of harm. Major medical associations recognize this care as essential, safe, and medically appropriate. SB4638 not only contradicts medical consensus, it also inserts political ideology into deeply personal family and health care decisions. Military families already navigate immense stress and sacrifice; they deserve full access to the care their children need—not discrimination disguised as policy. I urge you to vote no on SB4638 and uphold the rights and dignity of all military families.
