Restore National Park Signs on Slavery and Climate Change

Support full compliance with Judge Angel Kelley's order to restore the removed exhibits and signs at our national parks — and make clear to the Interior Department that this administration's erasure of history will not stand. A federal court has already ruled that stripping signs about slavery and climate change undermines the integrity of our parks and sets a dangerous precedent of censorship. The government has 21 days to comply, timed to the nation's 250th anniversary. That deadline matters. Our national parks belong to all Americans, including the communities whose stories were finally being told on those signs. Sanitizing history to fit a political narrative doesn't make America look stronger — it makes us look afraid of our own past. The National Parks Conservation Association and historians across the country took this to court because the Interior Department violated congressional mandates governing how more than 430 park sites must be operated. They won. The administration should not be allowed to drag its feet or find workarounds. Hold them accountable.
