Impose an arms embargo on Israel for attacking WHO aid workers

The World Health Organization Director-General has condemned the shocking attack by Israel forces firing tank shells at a WHO convoy in Gaza. This egregious violation of international law and blatant disregard for the safety of humanitarian workers is unacceptable. The convoy had proper clearance and was carrying out a critical mission to deliver medical supplies and facilitate the rotation of emergency personnel when it came under fire. Amid the extreme danger and life-threatening conditions in Gaza, aid workers are the last hope for survival for 2 million people desperately in need. Yet even they cannot carry out their duties safely due to Israel's reckless military actions. This disturbing incident underscores the urgent need to hold Israel accountable for its violations and restrain its ability to continue such indiscriminate attacks. An immediate arms embargo must be imposed on Israel to prevent further senseless violence against civilians and aid workers. World Health Organization workers putting their lives on the line deserve no less than guaranteed safety as they serve those most in need.
