I write to respectfully urge you to oppose the confirmation of Linda McMahon as Secretary of Education. As the former CEO of WWE, Ms. McMahan led an entertainment company that promoted violence, sexualized content, and detrimental stereotypes. She is unqualified to lead the Department of Education, with no experience in education other than a short, politically appointed stint on the Connecticut Board of Education.
As stated in the Education Agenda of the America First Policy Institute, a think tank led in part by McMahon, her goals will be to privatize education with school choice, charter schools, and voucher programs, as well as restrict the curriculum of our public schools. The future of our children’s education deserves far better leadership.
