An open letter to State Governors & Legislatures

No waiting period for Death with Dignity

1 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

I urge you to eliminate the waiting period requirement for terminally ill individuals seeking medical aid in dying. Forcing those suffering unbearably to endure additional weeks of anguish is an undue burden that undermines personal autonomy at life's most vulnerable stage. Medical ethics and personal liberty demand we respect terminally ill patients' right to a peaceful death on their own terms without arbitrary delays. I implore you to pass legislation aligning Maine with other states in allowing qualifying residents this compassionate end-of-life option without superfluous waiting periods prolonging their suffering.
