Reclaim Congressional Authority and End the Unauthorized War with Iran
3 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!
I am writing to express my profound opposition to the administration’s ongoing military campaign in Iran. As my representatives in Congress, you have a sworn duty to the Constitution, which clearly states that only the legislative branch has the power to declare war.
For 30 days, this administration has failed to provide a clear, consistent objective for these strikes. Instead, we are seeing hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars wasted on a conflict that appears driven more by foreign interests and regional regime change than by a defined American security strategy. This lack of transparency is an insult to the American people who are footing the bill.
Furthermore, I am appalled by the rhetoric coming from the Department of Defense. Secretary Pete Hegseth’s recent "no quarter, no mercy" comments are not a sign of strength; they describe a clear violation of the Geneva Conventions and a war crime. Such lawless language endangers our service members and erodes our credibility with global allies. We look like fools on the world stage, and the "no quarter" policy puts a target on the back of every American soldier.
Congress must stop acting as a spectator to this executive lawlessness. I expect you to:
1. Support H. Con. Res. 38 / S.J. Res. 118 to immediately withdraw U.S. forces from unauthorized hostilities.
2. Demand a public hearing where Secretary Hegseth must answer for his "no quarter" statements.
3. Block any supplemental funding for this war until a formal declaration of war is debated and voted upon.
The era of forever wars started under false pretenses must end. Reclaim your power and stop this dangerous, wasteful nonsense.
