NO Cuts to Medicaid/ACA

I am your constituent and I want you to know the effect of the proposed Medicaid and Affordable Care Act (ACA) cuts. 16 million who could lose health coverage, that includes 7.8 million individuals on Medicaid and 8.2 million covered through the ACA according to the Congressional Budget Office. Medical debt would increase by $50 billion as a result of the budget bill changes — a 15% rise over today’s $340 billion in unpaid debts, according to Third Way.On Average striking hard at millions of working American families. 31,000 people will die from preventable illnesses each and every year these cuts are in effect and about 250,000 new cases of preventable illnesses will occur including diabetes, including 138,851 additional cases of uncontrolled diabetes, 165,165 cases of uncontrolled hypertension, and 46,200 cases of uncontrolled high cholesterol annually. Enough is enough. Americans do not want you to cause increased debt for millions, increase the number of preventable chronic medical problems by 250,000 or kill tens of thousands who wouldn’t die if they could go to the doctor. DO NOT VOTE TO CUT MEDICAID/MEDICAID EXPANSION. DO NOT VOTE FOR MEDICAID WORK REQUIREMENTS. DO NOT REMOVE STATE BASED MEDICAID TAXES. DO NOT VOTE TO REMOVE/REDUCE ACA SUBSIDIES. This is critical for millions of us and I promise I will vote accordingly if you vote to punish Americans by removing their health insurance.
