An open letter to State Governors & Legislatures (Mich. only)

Protect the Porkies – Stop the Copperwood Mine

35 so far! Help us get to 50 signers!

I urge you to oppose any funding or legislative support for the proposed Copperwood Mine near the Porcupine Mountains. This mine would: Generate over 30 million tons of toxic waste near Lake Superior, with a 92% chance of leakage based on U.S. history. Threaten Michigan’s old-growth forests, rivers, wildlife, and recreation economy. Waste $50 million in taxpayer money on infrastructure to prop up a destructive project. Michigan families need clean water, thriving forests, and a sustainable economy—not toxic waste and boom-and-bust mining. Please stand with your constituents and keep the Porkies wild.
