It's time for fully automatic voter registration and expanded voting rights.
All eligible residents should be registered whether they go through the DMV or not. We should be doing everything in our power to ensure that voting is as simple and as accessable as possible. The easier it is to vote the better for our democracy. As part of that we should establish minimum access levels to polling stations. We should have enough polling stations so that nobody has to wait in line, much less wait in line after the polls close. We should also have enough capacity to handle a 100% turnout. There should be a maximum travel time/distance(by foot) to reach a polling station. Employers should have to give mandatory time off for voting.
The strength of a democracy is in its peoples engagement and a good democracy should do everything in its power to ensure that there are as few barriers as possible.
