An open letter to the U.S. Senate

Vote NO on the SAVE ACT

48 so far! Help us get to 50 signers!

The recently passed bill requiring proof of citizenship to register to vote unfairly targets and disenfranchises married women who have changed their names. Many may lack the specific documents to prove their name change is directly linked to citizenship. This creates unnecessary barriers and burdens, suppressing the votes of eligible citizens. To protect equal voting rights and avoid discriminatory impacts, the Senate should reject this legislation that undermines principles of democracy and erects obstacles for lawful voters attempting to exercise their constitutional rights. A policy claiming to ensure election integrity should not trample on the fundamental freedoms of the people it aims to protect.
