Trump’s DoJ is Abandoning Antitrust Enforcement, Make Sure Our AG Can Step Up

The federal government has now been functionally captured by big business and billionaires. Our state attorneys general can and must step up, starting with enforcing antitrust laws. Please ensure they have the financial resources they require to work in partnership with other AGs and go toe-to-toe with major corporations.
The Department of Justice under Donald Trump is giving free rein to mega-mergers and corporate consolidation. They are corrupted, and regular Americans are getting screwed over as a result. Consumers face higher costs, lower quality and fewer options, and there’s not much we can do about it on our own. We're subject to the whim of a smaller and smaller number of CEOs. We need someone to fill the void and fight for us.
We have already seen state AGs taking on this duty, picking up the baton that the federal government has dropped against Live Nation and the Nexstar-Tegna and Hewlett Packard-Juniper mergers. Now our legislators and governors must make sure they can keep up with this new responsibility and do what it takes to match the power of some of the most powerful institutions in our society.
The people are calling on you to support more appropriations for the state’s lawyers, specifically designated to coordinate antitrust suits and other fights for corporate accountability.
