Protect election integrity, allow CISA's security mission to continue

The decision to cease all election security activities at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) is deeply concerning. CISA has played a crucial role in helping state and local election officials secure voting infrastructure, harden polling places, and create contingency plans. Dismantling these efforts compromises the integrity of our elections and undermines public trust. Since 2017, CISA's expertise and resources have been invaluable in improving physical and digital security for elections. Their guidance has enabled election administrators to better defend against cyber threats, active shooters, and other risks. Abandoning this critical work leaves our electoral process vulnerable. Protecting the democratic process should be a non-partisan issue. CISA's election security initiatives have received bipartisan praise from officials across the country for their apolitical and practical support. Halting these programs based on unsubstantiated claims of censorship or misconduct is misguided and dangerous. Elections are a cornerstone of our democracy. Ensuring their security and resilience must remain a top priority for the federal government. I urge you to reconsider this decision and allow CISA to continue its vital election security mission without disruption. Safeguarding the integrity of our elections protects the fundamental rights of all Americans.
