An open letter to the U.S. Congress

The White House Faith Office raises serious constitutional concerns.

The executive order establishing the White House Faith Office raises serious constitutional concerns about potential violations of the Establishment Clause. While faith-based organizations provide valuable services, the government cannot show preferential treatment or endorse any particular religion. This order appears to go too far in promoting and privileging religious entities in government programs and policymaking. There needs to be a strong separation of church and state to protect religious freedom for all. I urge you to carefully review this order and make revisions to ensure it fully adheres to the First Amendment's prohibition on establishing an official religion or favoring some faiths over others or non-religion. Protecting religious liberty requires government neutrality towards religion.
