Private citizens should be protected from prying eyewear. Tell META NO!

Good morning! The ACLU has reached out to its supporters to let us know that there is a significant issue on the horizon, and we believe Congress should start legislation TODAY to prevent security risks posed for tomorrow. Apparently, META is introducing facial recognition capability to their smart glasses. This is an extreme risk to Americans at large- allowing non-government/LE people access to our identities. Not only does this threaten our personal identities for potential identity theft, it also opens the opportunity for people to gain access to personal information- or at the very least, a base starting point- for vigilantism and vendettas. As a regular Joe Schmoe, I can’t just jump into a government data base and look at people’s drivers licenses. Why should I be able to use specialized software in my glasses to access the same information? Please introduce legislation to prevent and/or at least limit the amount of data available to users of META glasses. The future of personal security relies on your actions.
