Oppose Russell Vought for OMB

I remember how Mitch McConnell got his caucus to block Democratic nomination after nomination. I’m calling to ask Senator Schumer to follow suit and whip his entire caucus against the nomination of Russell Vought for head of the Office of Management and Budget. ALREADY, IN NEWS FROM JUST LAST NIGHT, THE OMB HAS BEGUN BREAKING LAWS PASSED BY CONGRESS BY DELAYING ALL GRANT AND CONTRACT PAYMENTS FOR POLITICAL REASONS. When Vought served Trump at OMB last time, he showed his willingness to defy congressional authority to advance the MAGA agenda, including violating federal law by directing OMB to withhold aid to Ukraine, as part of Trump’s extortion scheme. He played a central role in efforts to reclassify federal employees for mass firings to clear the way for Trump loyalists, part of the dangerous Project 2025 plan to turn the federal government into a tool for Trump-led autocracy. As an architect of this agenda and policy director for the 2024 GOP platform, Vought wants to remake the government into an instrument of white Christian nationalism and political retribution. Senate Democrats should unanimously reject the nominations of Russell Vought and his cruel and radical plans to weaponize and dismantle our institutions.
