Vote no for the king's ballroom and the broken budget reconciliation bill.

Vote no on the Republican budget reconciliation bill and strip out the $1 billion earmarked for Trump's White House ballroom. This is a vanity project that has already proceeded without congressional approval and in defiance of a federal court order to stop. The historic East Wing has been demolished for it. That alone should disqualify any public funding. The bill's language claims funds can't be used for construction, but this administration has already shown it won't respect legal boundaries on this project. Meanwhile, the funding so far has come from billionaires and corporations holding government contracts — that's not philanthropy, that's a corruption problem. Taxpayers shouldn't be on the hook for a single dollar of this, and committee markup is expected the week of May 11th. There's no time to wait.
