Although Trump has only 9 days left to serve, the Senate must return to convict and disqualify him, which is necessary to prevent him from running for office, and to warn future would-be authoritarians that such behavior will not be tolerated. The senate must return to do its duty. By attempting to overturn Biden's election as president, the behavior of Trump's allies in the Senate was just as seditious, and warrants their disqualification for office under the 14th amendment. I also urge you to demand investigation of all groups involved in the instigating and planning of the rally leading up to the storming of the Capitol, of the inadequate law enforcement responses, and of the role played by members of Congress and its staffers, the Executive branch, and law enforcement.
