Oppose Arizona’s Harmful Ban on Gender-Affirming Care

This proposed legislation poses a grave threat to the wellbeing and rights of transgender individuals in Arizona. It unjustly denies access to medically necessary, gender-affirming care for both minors and adults. By stripping public employees of their ability to provide ethical treatment and punishing families and providers for supporting such care through measures like banning Medicaid coverage and tax deductions, the bill directly targets vulnerable populations and imposes governmental overreach into personal health decisions. The exception made for intersex individuals reveals the inherent hypocrisy and narrow viewpoints underpinning this legislation.
