Amendment by Amendment, You Betrayed Us

After the tragic Florida State University shooting, President Trump declared, “I will always protect the Second Amendment.” Excuse me, Mr. President—but no one believes you anymore. You talk about protecting one amendment while violating nearly every other. Your Record by Amendment: 1st: Silenced journalists, censored federal language like “climate change” and “transgender” and “Gulf of Mexico.” 2nd: Stated you would “Take the guns first, go through due process second.” 3rd: Militarized civilian spaces. Deployed ICE into schools and sacred spaces. 4th: Authorized raids and surveillance on legal residents. 5th: Deported individuals in defiance of court orders. 6th: Denied immigrants fair trials, then complained they would take too long. 7th: Attacked judges, undermined class-action rights. 8th: Sent deportees to foreign prisons where abuse is routine. 9th: Rolled back unenumerated rights for LGBTQ+ and women. 10th: Punished states for protecting civil rights. 11th–12th: Tried to overturn elections. Encouraged lawsuits against defiant states. 13th: Deported people into forced labor abroad. 14th: Tried to kill birthright citizenship. Ignored equal protection. 15th–17th: Backed voter suppression. Questioned direct elections. 19th: Gutted reproductive rights. 22nd: Flirted with ending term limits. 23rd–26th: Opposed D.C. voting rights. Restricted youth voting. 27th: Bought silence through fear and favors. So no, Mr. Trump—no one believes your talk of “rights.” And Congress—if you let this stand, you’re not defending the Constitution. You’re helping destroy it.
