An open letter to the U.S. Congress

No Veteran Should Be Denied Benefits Due to Beliefs or Marital Status

1 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

Doctors at Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) hospitals can now refuse to treat unmarried veterans and Democrats under new hospital guidelines imposed following an executive order by Donald Trump. Doctors and other medical staff can also be barred from working at VA hospitals based on their marital status, political party affiliation or union activity. Claiming this is to protect women is a flimsy excuse to remove care from transgender veterans, which is a shameful breach of the promise this country makes to its soldiers who serve. Denying veterans benefits based on what they believe is vile and shameful, and enlistment numbers will start to fall off if you don't get this under control.
