An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Demand Consumer Refunds for Unconstitutional Tariff Overcharges

25 so far! Help us get to 50 signers!

Apple just pocketed a $2.19 billion tariff refund after the Supreme Court struck down Trump's tariffs as unconstitutional. That's great for Apple's shareholders. But the consumers who paid inflated prices on iPhones and other tech products while those illegal tariffs were in effect got nothing. I want to know what you're doing to change that. Apple itself disclosed paying over $3.3 billion in tariff fees, costs that were passed directly to consumers through higher prices. Now that the courts have confirmed those tariffs were unlawful under IEEPA, corporations are being made whole while everyday people are left holding the bill. That's not how justice works. Push for legislation that creates a consumer refund mechanism for overcharges tied to tariffs the Supreme Court has already ruled unconstitutional. Corporations had the legal resources to track their tariff costs and claim refunds. Consumers deserve the same remedy.
