I am writing to you today with a heavy heart, filled with deep sadness and anger over the treatment of the Palestinian people in both Gaza and the West Bank. The recent attack by Hamas on innocent civilians in Israel has left me appalled and horrified. While Israel has the right to defend itself, it is evident that they have gone too far.
The loss of innocent civilian lives due to airstrikes and bombings targeting so-called Hamas targets is devastating. It appears, from my perspective, that the Israeli military is intentionally targeting civilians. Even more concerning is the reported summary executions of children and teenagers by Israeli soldiers in the West Bank. These gross human rights violations cannot go unnoticed.
Furthermore, the continued confiscation of Palestinian homes and their allocation to Jewish settlers, along with the bombing of schools, hospitals, and residential apartment blocks, is deeply troubling. While the Hamas attack was horrific, it cannot serve as a justification for Israel to ethnically cleanse entire families through mass killings. This one-sided battle is appalling to witness.
I understand that Israel is a key strategic ally, but as a person of conscience, I cannot stand by and watch thousands of innocent civilians being murdered on live television while trapped in Gaza, which has become an open-air prison and ghetto. I implore the United States to demand that Israel cease its wanton attacks on civilian targets.
I demand that Israel pursue a peaceful ceasefire solution to this crisis. I am adamantly opposed to a so-called ground offensive to eliminate Hamas, as it will only result in the deaths of countless more innocent Palestinians. This will further enrage the Islamic, Arab, Middle Eastern, and global communities, leading to more destabilization, war, destruction, and death.
The United States must take a leadership role and insist on a ceasefire and a peaceful resolution to this matter. It is crucial to understand that more war is not the answer. We need a diplomatic approach that prioritizes the protection of innocent lives and the pursuit of lasting peace. With 5000+ Palestinian civilians dead since the Hamas attacks, I think that is enough REVENGE for Israel.
