THESE ARE THE VALUES OF AN AMERICAN SENATOR? CRUELTY?

Why is it that the Homeland Security Secretary can parade around El Salvador’s CECOT prison with her $50K gold Rolex watch, designer combat gear, using human beings as props in a cringy, dehumanizing photo-op, but a senator is not even allowed to ascertain that one of his constituents locked up in error by the administration she serves is okay? Senator Van Hollen is not the first member of Congress to travel to El Salvador since Abrego García was deported. Reps. Jason T. Smith (R-Missouri) and Riley Moore (R-West Virginia) shared photos Tuesday of themselves at CECOT. The senator was trying to check on one of his constituents and was refused entry by a president who gladly accepted $6M of American taxpayer $$$ to house him, and theoretically keep him alive. But who knows if he is or not. So what do I get to read in the WaPo today straight from the mouth of my junior senator? “White House and Republicans have accused Abrego García of membership in the MS-13 gang and mocked Democrats for advocating for him. 
“They are jumping on airplanes and headed down to El Salvador to apparently go camp outside the prison camp where terrorists and murderers and rapists are held to say, ‘You know what America needs is more of those terrorists, murderers and rapists back in America,' ” Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) said on his podcast, “Verdict With Ted Cruz.”” How dare you? Ridiculing advocating for a person sent to a brutal prison in error on your watch? And you make fun of that common human empathy and Christian concern exhibited by the senator who represents him? I’d trade you in a nano-second for a senator like that. Read the polls. We the people don’t like this. Your constituents don’t like this. We are sick of the casual cruelty that comes out of the GOP Congress daily. We are sick of the lack of responsibility for anything that is happening right now. You are a disgrace to your position.
