As the federal government plays catch up on the federal budgeting process, let’s not forget just one of the areas of wasteful spending the Trump Administration is occurring while sensleslessly cutting nondefense spending and giving tax breaks to the billionaires and the wealthiest in our country.
🛩️ Aircraft Losses
• F/A-18E Super Hornet: A $60 million fighter jet fell into the Red Sea from the USS Harry S. Truman during evasive maneuvers to avoid Houthi missile fire.
• MQ-9 Reaper Drones: The U.S. has lost between 10 to 14 MQ-9 Reaper drones, each valued at approximately $30 million, totaling $300 million to $448 million in losses.
🚀 Interception Costs
• Missile and Drone Defense: The U.S. Navy has expended significant resources intercepting Houthi missiles and drones. For instance, in one engagement, destroyers shot down 24 threats at a cost of $17 million. Overall, the interception efforts have likely cost over $80 million.
💥 Operational Expenses
• Operation Rough Rider: Since March 15, the U.S. has conducted over 800 airstrikes against Houthi targets in Yemen. While exact costs are undisclosed, such extensive operations contribute significantly to overall expenditures.
Approximately $600-700 million. Stop the administration’s abuse of tax dollars
