Co-Sponsor The Provider Reimbursement Stability Act

As a constituent and clinician working in post-acute and long-term care (PALTC), I urge you to support the Provider Reimbursement Stability Act of 2026 (H.R. 8163). This legislation is critical to stabilizing Medicare reimbursement for clinicians caring for medically complex and vulnerable patients in nursing homes and other long-term care settings. H.R. 8163 would modernize the outdated budget neutrality threshold, require CMS to assess the true costs of care delivery, and ensure billing code adjustments are grounded in real-world data. These reforms are especially important in PALTC, where clinicians face high patient acuity, workforce shortages, and growing regulatory demands. Medicare reimbursement has declined by 33% since 2001 when adjusted for inflation, disproportionately affecting clinicians in facility-based settings. Without reform, access to on-site care will continue to erode—particularly in rural and underserved communities—leading to avoidable hospitalizations and higher overall system costs. I respectfully ask you to co-sponsor and support H.R. 8163 to protect access to care and sustain the clinicians serving our most vulnerable patients.
