I woke this morning to the news: the United States has bombed Iran.
Another war, begun in the dark—without a vote, without public consent, without even the pretense of diplomacy. This is not defense. This is escalation. This is how world wars begin.
The President has taken it upon himself to bypass Congress and launch an act of war. This is not only unconstitutional—it is profoundly dangerous. We have seen this pattern before: unauthorized military force, sold as necessity, leading to years of destruction, displacement, and grief. The American people do not want another endless war.
This reckless decision endangers millions of lives—not only in Iran, but across the entire region and here at home. It threatens global stability, worsens tensions with other nuclear powers, and pulls us further from the urgent work of healing—both internationally and within our own wounded nation.
We are not separate from the world. We are woven into it. And when we choose bombs over breath, force over diplomacy, destruction over dialogue—we unravel not only peace, but the future.
I demand that Congress take immediate action:
• Reclaim its Constitutional authority over war-making.
• Demand a full halt to hostilities.
• Investigate this unauthorized military action.
• Center diplomacy, not destruction.
There is still time to stop this. But not much.
No war without a vote.
No war in my name.
No war for empire, ego, or illusion.
We are not beyond repair—but we must act now to choose another path.
