Vote against any legislation that restricts gender-affirming care for adults or minors. The claim that these policies protect children is a deliberate deception.
Jennifer Bauwens from the America First Policy Institute admitted last month that children are just "the low-hanging fruit" in their strategy. She stated their goal is to ban this care for everyone: "We're not going to quit until we see this thing totally and completely overturned." They're using restrictions on minors to "change the public opinion" so they can "protect more people," meaning strip healthcare access from all transgender Americans.
The AFPI has enormous influence over this administration. They claim Trump implemented over 90% of their policy agenda and placed at least 73 staffers in his second term. Scott Centorino, a former Trump staffer, described proposed rules banning hospitals in Medicare and Medicaid from providing gender-affirming care as "a nuclear weapon." One rule already defines children as anyone under 19, which includes legal adults in most states.
This was never about protecting kids. It's about eliminating transgender people from public life entirely. Oppose these bans at every level.
