An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Uphold Voting Rights for Adoptees and Married Women

1 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

The proposed Protecting Voters for Adoptees and Honest Elections Act poses risks to voting rights by creating barriers for individuals who have legally changed their names due to marriage or adoption. This legislation fails to account for the legitimate reasons why some citizens may have different names on various forms of identification. By imposing unnecessary restrictions, it risks disenfranchising a significant portion of the electorate. As your constituent, I urge you to reject this bill and instead focus on measures that expand access to voting and protect the fundamental rights of all eligible Americans to participate in our democratic process.
