Stop the Legislative Extortion – Fund TSA and FEMA Now

I am writing to demand that you immediately support and pass standalone funding for the TSA, the Coast Guard, and FEMA. It is unacceptable that 41 days into a partial DHS shutdown, essential workers are being forced to work without pay while their livelihoods are used as a bargaining chip for unrelated political agendas. I urge you to reject any all-or-nothing funding package and instead: - Pass Standalone Appropriations: Immediately decouple the funding for our airport security and disaster response infrastructure from the ongoing disputes over ICE and the SAVE Act. TSA agents and FEMA responders should not be held hostage to debates over unrelated legislation. - Reject Unregulated ICE Funding: I firmly oppose any blank check funding for ICE. Any future funding for Enforcement and Removal Operations must be contingent upon the professional standards in the Minneapolis Guardrails, including mandatory judicial warrants, the use of body cameras, and strict transparency requirements. - Oppose the Militarization of Airports: The deployment of unvetted, untrained ICE agents to perform TSA duties is a dangerous escalation and a misuse of resources. We need trained, professional civilian screeners who are paid for their labor, not a shadow-militarization of our travel hubs. The current administration's refusal to accept a clean funding bill for essential services is a failure of leadership.
