End Tax Breaks for Avelo Airlines' Deportation Flights

I am writing to urge you to take immediate action to repeal the $40,000 annual fuel tax exemption currently granted to Avelo Airlines in Delaware. This tax break is effectively subsidizing a company that profits from conducting deportation flights for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
As a concerned constituent, I find it deeply troubling that our state is providing financial benefits to a corporation actively involved in separating families and communities through deportation operations. Avelo's contract with ICE directly contradicts the values of inclusivity and justice that Delaware should uphold.
By repealing this $40,000 tax break, Delaware can send a clear message that we do not condone or support businesses that engage in controversial immigration enforcement practices. In addition, the $40,000 saved annually could be redirected to programs that benefit all Delawareans, such as education, healthcare, or infrastructure improvements, creating real, positive financial implications for our state.
I urge you to act swiftly on this matter to stop state support for Avelo Airlines and any other companies involved in deportation activities. Your leadership will be crucial in ensuring that Delaware's resources are not used to support practices that harm our communities and contradict our values.
