As a constituent and outdoor enthusiast, I urge you to support legislation and policy reforms that ensure the continued health of our trees and forests and create, expand and level access to their healing power for communities across the country, including:
- Investing in urban and rural community forestry projects;
- Passing and funding the SHADE (Saving Hazardous and Declining Environments) Act to create a grant program under the Department of Housing and Urban Development to fund tree-planting projects in districts where they’re needed most;
- Pass the Save our Forests Act to reinstate essential U.S. Forest Service workforce.
It’s critical that you take action to ensure that our trees and forests remain standing for today’s outdoor enthusiasts and future generations of Americans to enjoy. Please co-sponsor and support the above bills and other measures to protect the health of our forests, and public access to them, without further delay.
