An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Fiscal Year 2027 Federal Budget Amendments

7 so far! Help us get to 10 signers!

As your constituent, I am imploring you to prioritize the following amendments to the Fiscal Year 2027 Budget. In Section 7041(c) under "Middle East and North Africa.", Strike $3.3B Foreign Military Financing (FMF) Earmark for Israel. The redline is: In Section 7041(c), strike: [of which $3,300,000,000 shall be available for assistance for Israel]. Do not support financing the genocidal Israeli colonial state in any amount of US funding. Do not make your constituents complicit in genocide. Under Section 7039, redline: None of the funds made available by this Act may be used to provide assistance, equipment, or salary support to the Board of Peace (BOP), the International Stabilization Force (ISF), the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), or any successor similar post-conflict governance or security mechanisms. The US should not be involved in stabilizing or governing Palestine. Under Title III (Economic Support Fund), redline: Of the funds appropriated under the heading “Economic Support Funds,” not less than $120,000,000 to provide continued financial assistance and debt relief for the hospitals in Palestine. The Secretary of State shall submit a report within 60 days of enactment detailing assistance provided to the hospitals and plans to ensure continued medical access for patients from Gaza to the appropriate Committees.  The US is responsible for the genocide in Palestine, we are responsible for at least making sure we pay for the hospitals to remain functioning to not add more deaths and blood to our hands. Under Section 7035 and 7041(c), strike out any assistance to Israel. NO TO ENABLING GENOCIDE, OCCUPATION, APARTHEID, ETHNIC CLEANSING AND TERRORISM. Israel is a terrorist genocidal colonial illegal settler state. Under Division G, Section 101 (Other Matters - Funding Limitation), Strike Section 101 Funding Limitation in its entirety. Section 101 imposes a prohibition on U.S. contributions to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency, regardless of humanitarian conditions, oversight reforms, or congressional intent. Striking this limitation restores congressional and executive flexibility to respond to humanitarian needs through established international mechanisms. This change ensures that U.S. humanitarian assistance policy is driven by need, accountability, and performance rather than political statutory bans. Stand up for what’s right.
