Support Impeachment of Secretary Noem and Vote Against DHS Appropriations

Secretary Noem claimed Pretti approached Border Patrol agents with a handgun and "violently resisted," yet eyewitness videos do not show him holding a gun in the moments before his death. Local officials confirmed he had a legal permit to carry. Similarly, Noem characterized Good's death as an act of "domestic terrorism," claiming she tried to harm agents, but cellphone videos contradict this narrative, with witnesses stating she appeared to be driving away from officers. These killings represent a dangerous escalation in federal immigration enforcement that has turned ICE into what Rep. Bennie Thompson accurately described as "a paramilitary force terrorizing American communities." When federal agents kill U.S. citizens on American soil and officials provide misleading explanations contradicted by video evidence, we face a crisis of accountability that threatens the safety of all constituents. Rep. Robin Kelly's impeachment resolution now has 120 co-sponsors, reflecting widespread recognition that Secretary Noem has failed in her fundamental duty to protect American lives. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer has stated that Senate Democrats will not provide votes to proceed on appropriations bills including DHS funding, and Sens. Amy Klobuchar and Adam Schiff have confirmed they will vote against such bills.
