Overspend, Break Laws. ICE Leadership, Trump Must Be Held Accountable

I support focused operations against undocumented individuals with violent criminal records. But facts matter. The majority of undocumented people are not violent. They are contributing members of our communities. The Trump administration’s approach is neither strategic nor humane; it’s chaotic, cruel, and dangerous. Now, ICE, under Trump’s direction and with the oversight of DHS Secretary Chad Wolf and Acting ICE Director Patrick Lechleitner, has exceeded its congressionally approved budget. That violates the Antideficiency Act, a federal law that prohibits spending beyond what Congress authorizes. This is fraud, waste, and abuse, plain and simple. Instead of enforcing the law, this administration is breaking it. We demand immediate hearings and a full investigation into ICE’s illegal overspending. Congress must hold this administration accountable, not just for its fiscal violations, but for prioritizing political theater over national security, public safety, and human rights. Americans deserve leadership grounded in law and focused on real threats, not loyalty tests and manufactured crises.
