I urge you to veto Senate Bill 1. What is the rationale for having this bill? It impedes the rights of students and faculty. The wording so vague that it is unclear what “controversial beliefs”mean. The point of college is to engage in discussions and debates on a variety of topics. I teach immunology and vaccines. Is discussion around vaccines no longer allowed? A topic that has incredible scientific evidence and importance to human health. If the intent is to undereducate our students and make them less prepared, then mission accomplished.
