I would like to support Senator Tim Kaine’s war powers resolution to emphasize and ensure that Congress, not the President, has the power to declare and authorize war efforts. With the escalating conflict between Israel and Iran, it is crucial that the U.S. not be pulled into yet another conflict unless it is necessary and properly authorized. Congress has given too much leeway to the President in that regard in past years, and it is time we correct that.
