As your constituent, I am demanding that you reject the SAVE Act—completely and without exception.
I do not want the SAVE Act passed. I do not want it watered down, repackaged, or hidden inside another piece of legislation. Stop trying to sneak it into must-pass bills, including the National Defense Authorization Act, reconciliation packages, or any other unrelated legislation.
If Congress believes this bill deserves to become law, then put it on the floor and let the American people see exactly what you are voting on. Do not use unrelated legislation as a vehicle to force through a bill that could create unnecessary barriers for eligible American citizens trying to exercise their fundamental right to vote.
The SAVE Act could disproportionately burden married women whose legal names differ from their birth certificates, seniors, military families, rural Americans, people with disabilities, and low-income citizens who may not have immediate access to the required documentation.
Congress should be making it easier—not harder—for eligible Americans to participate in our democracy.
And let’s be clear: federal law already prohibits noncitizens from voting in federal elections and provides criminal penalties for doing so. Congress does not need to manufacture new barriers to voting in order to enforce laws that already exist.
There is no excuse for hiding this legislation inside unrelated bills. The American people deserve transparency, accountability, and an honest vote—not political games and legislative backdoors.
My position is unequivocal: NO means NO.
Reject the SAVE Act every time it comes before you, regardless of what bill it is attached to or how it is repackaged.
Your job is not to make voting harder for eligible Americans. Your job is to protect our Constitution, our democracy, and the rights of the people you represent.
Stop trying to sneak this bill through. Reject the SAVE Act. Period.
