An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Reprimand politicians inciting violence against lawmakers and citizens.

President Trump's hateful rhetoric continues to breed violence from the right supporting citizens. Multiple lawmakers, organizers, and protesters have been attacked over the last few years. Even Trump himself was a victim of a failed attempt in at a speech in Pennsylvania. Other notable public figures who became victims of Trump's violence inciting rhetoric include Paul Pelosi and Senator Padilla. Even Senator Lisa Murkowski has commented on the threat of violence being used against the Republican party itself to ensure that party members stay in line and not criticize the administration. However, remaining silent will embolden the Trump administration and future attacks and violence will only escalate. President Trump and other politicians who sow the seeds of violence, such as Sen Mike Lee and Kristi Noem, must be held accountable. Congress must immediately move to censure and, if necessary, remove from office any political leader who advocates for violence.
