Oppose ACE Act, Protect Voting Rights for All Communities

The American Confidence in Elections Act (ACE Act) is a cause for concern due to its potential to impose nationwide restrictions on voting rights, undermining democratic values and access. The Act's provisions, such as voter ID requirements and limitations on vote-by-mail, disproportionately impact communities of color, exacerbating the racial turnout gap. This legislation also threatens to obstruct the implementation of the Executive Order on Promoting Access to Voting. It is crucial to prioritize pro-voter reforms that expand access to the ballot for all communities, rather than supporting legislation that could perpetuate harmful narratives and further disenfranchise voters. Therefore, it is requested to oppose the ACE Act and focus on strengthening protections against discrimination in voting.
