An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Investigate the National Design Studio and Protect Americans' Data

You need to investigate the National Design Studio immediately. Former DOGE staffers are running four federal websites — including passport applications and voter registration — through a White House-controlled agency with zero congressional oversight, no required privacy filings, and no spending listed in the federal contract database. That's not a bureaucratic oversight. That's a deliberate end-run around the law. Until The Guardian forced the issue, all four NDS sites ran visitor-tracking software designed to evade privacy tools. Passport data that should flow through the State Department is being routed through systems controlled by political appointees. Edward Coristine, who has been linked to exposing Social Security data, reportedly appears in NDS materials. This is the same DOGE network that has already proven it cannot be trusted with Americans' sensitive information. Do your job — demand answers, hold hearings, and shut down any data collection that operates outside federal privacy law.
