Greetings. I am a voting constituent in rural west Texas.
Welcome back to the show guys. Fingers crossed things get productive soon. And that there are some saner voices that can win the day. Cause y’all got a lot to chew on, quickly please.
It seems from an outside prospective that one guy is holding up so much important work. One guy that is stuck between a rock and a hard place, of his own choosing. The face of this one guy is Speaker Johnson. But the real face of this is DJT. Johnson is just the one who chose to go along and make it all so. He is the one with the real power, that he agreed to cede to the guy who wants power back.
No matter. What the real concern, to me, is the disingenuousness of the whole conflict over national security funding for Ukraine. And Israel. And Gaza. The Speaker keeps insisting nothing will happen without securing the southern border.
That would be fine, if an enormous attempt had not already been made to do just that very thing. Which he shot down. He could have gone a long way to fixing the problem he insists is a crisis, but he chose not too. Because he wants to keep his job.
It is agreed that the border needs fixing. Y’all chose not to do so. It may very well be considered a crisis. But I believe that bombs falling on cities and civilians, while they wait for help that America promised them, is more so. Speaker Johnson should go to the border. Then go to Ukraine. Maybe then he can have prospective on what a true crisis looks like.
This pious posturing for purely political purposes is transparent. Shameful. And blatantly hypocritical.
So while we sit here quibbling over events of our (your) own making, we look like unreliable ditherers. We look chaotic. And not to be trusted.
What will you do to fix that?
