RFK Jr. Undermines COVID Vaccine Access & Trust in Science: Remove Him

By requiring extensive placebo-controlled trials for updated COVID-19 boosters—especially for healthy individuals under 65—the FDA is erecting unnecessary barriers to immunization. This shift, driven by Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., disregards established scientific practices and threatens trust in public health (Reuters, May 2025; AP News, May 2025). Dr. Peter Marks, former head of the FDA’s vaccine division, resigned in protest, citing Kennedy’s “misinformation and lies” and warning that the new policies undermine decades of vaccine safety standards (NPR, March 2025). Experts like Dr. Paul Offit have condemned the placebo mandate as unethical and unnecessary, noting that existing vaccines have already proven safe and effective (Washington Post, May 2025). These changes will delay access to updated vaccines, reduce insurance coverage, and erode public trust. They ignore the reality that COVID-19 continues to pose risks across all age groups. By politicizing vaccine approval, the administration is putting ideology over science and endangering lives. Congress must intervene immediately. Reverse these harmful policies, restore science-based decision-making, and remove RFK Jr. from his position before more damage is done.
