Republicans' spineless complicity enables this self-destructive conduct and abdicates Congress's constitutional duty over trade policy. Their craven deference to Trump is sacrificing the national interest at the altar of partisan tribalism. Reclaiming authority over tariffs must be an urgent priority to prevent further self-inflicted economic sabotage.
