STOP ICE's direct access to Motor Vehicle data.

ICE has a new trick up its sleeve, and it’s coming for all U.S. residents if we don’t do something to prevent it NOW. ICE is retrieving personal identities from Motor Vehicle data by searching for matches to their facial recognition data. To prevent this unprecedented access to our personal records, we must work to curtail ICE's direct access to our Motor Vehicle data unless they provide a judicial warrant for a criminal investigation. We should join states like New York and Illinois in preventing our personal information from being used to target residents participating in First Amendment protected protests. Beyond this short-term narrative, we should fear what will happen to our data when ICE and the Trump administration inevitably fall as all empires are wont to do. Our data is our identities.
