Adequately fund VA Services NOW!

I am writing in outrage and disbelief at the government’s decision to drastically cut services provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs. These cuts are unacceptable, indefensible, and a profound betrayal of the men and women who risked their lives for this country. Our veterans answered the call without hesitation. They served in war zones, endured trauma, permanent injuries, and lifelong health consequences — all with the promise that their country would take care of them when they returned home. Now, instead of honoring that promise, the government is abandoning them. Cutting VA healthcare, mental health services, housing assistance, staffing, or benefits is not a “budget decision.” It is a moral failure. Veterans already face unacceptably long wait times, understaffed facilities, and barriers to care. Slashing services will only worsen suicide rates, homelessness, untreated PTSD, and preventable deaths. If this government can always find money for war, corporate subsidies, and bloated defense contracts, it can damn well find the money to care for the people who fought those wars. Let me be absolutely clear: Veterans are not expendable. They are not a line item to be trimmed. They earned these benefits through service and sacrifice. Supporting veterans is not charity — it is an obligation. I demand immediate answers: • Who authorized these cuts? • What specific services are being reduced or eliminated? • How many veterans will be harmed as a result? • And why are veterans once again being asked to pay the price for political and fiscal failures? This country has a sacred responsibility to protect those who protected us. Anything less is a disgrace to our values and to the uniform they wore. Reverse these cuts immediately. Fully fund the VA. Do your job. America’s veterans deserve better — and they deserve it now.
